- Compact housing 19” / 1U
KDN-194/x stereo NICAM encoder is designed to produce a complete, digitally modulated signal of the subcarrier of the Stereo or Mono sound in NICAM-728 system, based on the ETSI-EBU specification “NICAM-728 system”. Into the NICAM encoder signals of two low frequency sounds (Stereo -> L and R or Mono1 and Mono2) are introduced from SAT tuner or other AV signal sources f.e. CD, DVD player.
From the encoder the following signals are let out:
• signal of the analogue sound “Mono” / sum R+L to audio input of the TV modulator,
• NICAM 5,85MHz subcarrier signal (NICAM / IF: 33,4MHz or 33,05MHz optionally).
KDN-194/x encoder processes input analogue signal into adequate digital form, supplements it with control information for the decoder in the TV receiver. In the following step the digital sequence is formatted to the form suitable for the NICAM-728 system. After filtration, such a signal is added to the IF signal of the TV channel, obtained from the TV modulator (external) in order to obtain the complete TV signal in the channel, chosen by the user. The KDN-194/x NICAM encoder is designed to set up in 19” rack. In the 1U housing the number of working NICAM encoders is from1 to 4. In the housing a driver and power supply adaptor are installed.
The KDN-194/x in standard version is equipped with two coders (KDN-194/2), while the extended version has four coders (KDN-194/4).
